A lawyer’s fees are agreed freely with the client. They reflect the nature and complexity of the matter, the work required, the likely time involved and the issues at stake.
Fee agreement
Fees suited to your engagement
Depending on the engagement, fees may be calculated by time spent, as a fixed fee, or using a combination suited to the matter. A success fee may also be agreed in addition to a principal fee, in writing.
The firm explains the selected arrangements and any necessary changes. Any extension of the engagement or additional work is discussed in advance.
Legal expenses insurance
If you have legal expenses insurance, your lawyer’s fees may be covered in whole or in part, subject to the coverage and limits of your policy. You remain free to choose your lawyer. Before the engagement begins, contact your insurer to check the terms applicable to your matter. Fees are agreed with Maître Claire SUN; any amount not covered by the insurer remains payable by you.
Mediation fees
Mediation fees are separate from fees for legal services. They are set according to SUN MÉDIATION’s own terms.
