When people are in conflict or have a disagreement, they may wish to find an amicable solution, whether dialogue continues or has become difficult. Mediation provides a framework for clarifying their points of view and needs, facilitating exchanges and seeking an agreement together. The mediator supports them without taking sides, deciding the dispute or imposing a decision.

It may be initiated by the parties before, during or after court proceedings, or be proposed by a judge during proceedings and take place with the parties’ agreement. It may be considered for civil, commercial or employment disputes, including certain family, workplace, landlord-and-tenant, commercial or neighbourhood matters.

By allowing the participants to take a direct part in seeking a way forward, mediation can offer an alternative to lengthy or difficult proceedings and help them manage the pace of discussions.

Through SUN MÉDIATION, an activity distinct from her legal practice.Founder of SUN MÉDIATION, Claire SUN acts there as an independent and impartial mediator.
  • She is not the lawyer of either party to the mediation.
  • The participants shape the solution under consideration themselves.
  • No agreement or outcome can be guaranteed.
